Dear friend,

Money kept coming in this week in modest, uncounted ways. Four times, over four days. Each under $50. So today's letter says one thing: you are allowed to count the under-fifty ones as money.

Here is what came in. $47 from a client who finally hit send on an invoice from September. $12 from my sister on Venmo for a July thing. $8 refund from a subscription I canceled in June. $23 cash tip from an Etsy customer who wrote THANK YOU on the mailer. That is $90.

For me, $90 is a tank of gas and a cell phone bill co-pay. For somebody else, $90 is a fifth of what they lose on parking in a week.

I used to not count anything under $100. If $12 came in from a friend, I'd thank them and forget it. The $12 did not clear in my head as money. It cleared as nothing. The favor was completed and the loop was closed.

Two years ago I started writing them down. One running note on my phone. Date, amount, source. I did not add them up for the first six months. I just wrote. In August I added them up for the year. $2,114. For me, that is six weeks of groceries.

LOA GURUS HAVE NOTHING ON THIS

There’s a woman who infiltrated an Ancient Egyptian Secret Society…

Sounds crazy, right?

I was just on the phone with her before sitting down to this email.

She was still shaken up from the experience.

But here’s the really crazy thing…

Ever since, she started making money everywhere she turned.

She says she’s never seen anything like this…

Even the Law of Attraction has nothing on it.

And it all comes from her catching this frequency on her cellphone when she infiltrated this trillionaire cult…

I was a little shaken myself the first time I listened to it.

Because within minutes…

I’d never felt better.

I come across new opportunities all the time.

And every day, they just fall into my lap.

You need to hear this to believe it.

Oh, and by the way…

If you want to build a following on social media (or in the real world)...

WHAT COUNTS
AS MONEY

The reason the under-$50 money does not count is that nobody counted it for us. The $20 bill from an aunt at Christmas was a gift, not income. The $5 our mother let us keep from change at the gas station was spending money, not money money. The $35 check in the mail from an overpaid utility was treated like a surprise, something to blow on takeout the same night.

Nobody wrote any of these down. Nobody added them up. Nobody said THIS IS INCOME ARRIVING. So we grew up thinking money only meant a paycheck twice a month. A paycheck was Serious. Everything else was weather.

I am 34 and I just now learned that a $47 payment is money that came in. It took me writing it in the notes app for two years, with the date, with the source. Only when I added the column up did my body believe it.

WHAT I DID
WITH THE NINETY

The $90 did not go in a jar. I did not light a candle for it. I did not post a screenshot of my bank balance to a group chat.

I wrote each one down. $47 Thursday, Rachel's invoice. $12 Monday, Jenn's Venmo. $8 Wednesday, Audible payback. $23 Tuesday, Etsy tip from H in Oregon. Four lines. Nothing underneath them.

Then I kept the $47 for groceries, used the $12 to top up my phone, the $8 for the kids' library late fees, and the $23 for a drive-through coffee for me and my sister on Saturday morning. Spent, not saved. Still money.

The belief underneath all of this is what keeps the money invisible. The belief that only big money is money. We are about to burn it.

Only big money counts as money.
All of it counts, including the $8 that showed up unexpectedly.

If it's under fifty dollars, don't bother tracking it.
If it's under fifty dollars, write it down so my body learns to see it.

A $12 reimbursement is not real income.
A $12 reimbursement is money my body is learning to see.
THE VAULT
Twelve lines for today. Say them slowly, until your body hears them.
01I count every dollar as money arriving.
02I write every dollar in a column.
03I let the eight dollar one be real money. MOST TAKEN
04I notice the twelve dollars my sister sent.
05I spend what came in without any guilt.
06I keep adding to the running total.
07I thank the person who finally paid.
08I let tips feel like real money, not luck.
09I count returns as money I earned back.
10I open the apps and feel glad.
11I believe my hundred dollar weeks.
12I let today's smaller dollars count fully.
WHAT YOU'RE ALLOWED
TO RECEIVE TODAY

I am not going to hand you a list. I am not going to say today, do one thing to prove you are open to money. Today you are allowed to do nothing.

You can count what came in this week, even the parts under $20. Screenshot the deposit and keep it in your photos app, not for proof, for memory. Say THANK YOU out loud in the car when the direct deposit hits, even for the $18 one.

You are allowed to receive a surprise $8 without turning it into a story about the universe. The IRS owed it. The subscription owed it. The client owed it. Money that is owed is money you earned. You are not getting away with anything.

And you can end this week counting it all. Every $12. Every $23. Every bag of Halloween candy your boss bought the office that you took three handfuls of on the way out. That counts too.

Open the door. Expect more. Let it find you.

Keep the door open,

MONEY MAGNET

P.S. The $8 from Audible hit at 11:14 on a Wednesday morning while I was eating cold leftover pasta over the sink. I did not know they had canceled a book I had not opened in 11 months. I ate three more bites before I checked the amount.
